Message from Rev Dave:

Dear Friends,

I want to thank you all for your prayers over the last while. In January I finally had to stop to deal with an on going medical issue that required me non-amubaltory to allow healing. Thanks to my doctor and the care of our Home Care nurses my medical situation has improved and will continue to be monitored.

That monitoring will take place in the context of me being back to work as of this morning with consideration for the need for mobility aids and a reduced schedule for this first week of March. I look forward to seeing you all around the church and at worship on Sundays.

While I have been away much has happened in our world and it needs mending. We can only begin that work when each of us is physically and spiritually well and that will be our focus for the remainder of this Lenten Season. We spend a lot of time in the run up to Easter trying to demonstrate asceticism, or pronounced piety that will not be our foucs this Lent.  For this season in our life and work together we will be equipping ourselves for the work of ministry, not endeavoring to change the world but our attitude towards discipleship. Once we  understand who, and how to follow the hope of Easter becomes a fait acompli.

Again, I want to thank each of you for your contributions to our life and our work together, and I look forward to growing in faith with you as we once again lean into the darkness and seek to understand it so that we may experience the  light of God’s love in ways that are life giving and bright.
